The daemon version of the Linux F6FBB BBS software package has been included.
The FBB BBS Debian package was left un-installed. It can be found in /home.
Use the cmd dpkg -i /home/xxxxxx.deb to un pack and install the BBS files.
Once the package is installed you may configure the BBS ..
type:
/usr/sbin/fbb
If you have been running a WinFBB you can replace the LinFBB files with your WinFBB files. The LinFBB files are located in /etc/ax25/fbb/.
To Start FBB you can run the FBB configuration script fbb or load the xfbbd daemon directly from the command line
To logon to the BBS from a local console use the cmd :
xfbbC -c -i <callsign>
See man xfbbC for more info.
Once you have logged on use the standard FBB commands.
With FPAC access from other applications is very simple. They use the rose0 port.
From FPAC to a co-located BBS use the BBS's full ROSE address.
The command line in FPAC.CONF is like :
Command BBs = connect f6bvp-1 2080175502
On the BBS side, a pseudo TNC is declared on port rose0. In the following example it is declared in the first line after TNC 0. This would make it port A of the BBS. In Linux it may also be refered to by the text in the Freq field (Axip).
Here is an example from F6BVP port.sys file : # #TNC NbCh Com MultCh Pacln Maxfr NbFwd MxBloc M/P-Fwd Mode Freq 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 00/01 ---- File-fwd. 1 20 1 rose0 250 2 6 10 15/10 XULWY Axip 2 4 1 0 250 2 2 10 25/25 XULWY VHF 3 4 1 1 250 2 2 10 05/10 XULWY UHF1 4 4 1 3 250 2 2 10 08/10 XULWY UHF2 5 10 1 4 250 2 8 10 08/10 XULWY Linux1 6 10 2 0 250 7 8 10 15/15 TUWY Linux2
Bulletins and message forwarding to a remote BBS on a system also running
FPAC will transit transparently via a Level 3 connection bewteen FPAC nodes.
